A second-degree murder warrant has been issued for a 35-year-old Edmonton man in connection with the killing of 39-year-old Marlon Jair Nunez who was found dead in an apartment building north of Whyte Avenue last weekend.

On Friday, police issued a news release asking the public to help them find Kyle Lauman in connection with the stabbing death. They said in addition to the murder charge, Lauman is also facing charges of causing an indignity to a body and possession of an offensive weapon.

Lauman is five-foot-five and 211 pounds and has short black hair and brown eyes. He also has a moustache and a thin goatee. Both of his ears are pierced.

Police said they believe Lauman is “armed and dangerous and should not be approached” if spotted.

Police found Nunez’s body in an apartment building on 83 Avenue and 107 Street on Sunday afternoon after receiving a call from a concerned family member.

An autopsy was completed on Tuesday and determined he died from stab wounds. Nunez is Edmonton’s fourth homicide victim of 2018.
