UPDATE Saturday 3 a.m.:
Three people are in custody following a 15 hour standoff in Peterborough’s west end.
Around 1 a.m. Saturday, the Peterborough Police Emergency Response Team entered a residence on Stenson Boulevard with assistance from the Durham Regional Police Tactical Unit.
Peterborough police said three adults were taken into custody for an undisclosed incident that occurred in Pickering.
“Durham Regional Police will be continuing this investigation and processing all charges related to this matter,” stated Insp. Dan Smith.
“There will be no further information provided by Peterborough Police related to this situation or the persons taken into custody.”

Peterborough Police are advising residents to remain away from Stenson Boulevard in the city’s west end.
It’s believed a man has barricaded himself inside one of the units.
Officers and the Emergency Response Team and K-9 unit are on scene and are focusing on one unit.
CHEX News spoke with a neighbour who said she’s been in contact with two people who are allegedly inside the house. Multiple sources tell CHEX News that a Durham man is inside, but police have not confirmed that.
A neighbour told CHEX News he wants to turn himself into the police, but his girlfriend does not want him to.
Police arrived on scene around 10 a.m. Officers could be heard telling occupants in the unit to exit safely and that they can use the phone if they need to call.
Neighbours trying to get into their homes have been escorted by police.
Roads remain open.
