Four youths and their parents came forward to Calgary police after investigators made a public plea for information regarding four arson attempts at a city school.
Police outlined four instances where witnesses saw four young people attempting to start fires, or actually starting fires, at St. Isabella Elementary Junior High School in southeast Calgary in February.
In three of those instances, police said the youth made and used Molotov cocktails. In the first event, police said the youths were seen trying to light arrows on fire and shoot them at the school.
Police said the youths and their parents came forward on Tuesday.
Investigators are now in the process of conducting interviews to determine the involvement of each of the young people.
Charges are pending, police said.
Police were also investigating whether an incident at McKenzie Lake School on Feb. 18 was connected, but said Wednesday they do not believe it is related.
