On Tuesday, Kenn Grainger said he is resigning from the role, which he has held since 2004.

“It is just time,” Grainger said.

“It is a move I very much dislike making, but my 91 years are hinting that I should do this on my terms. So there you have it!”

Formed in the late 1990s, the Pathway of Fame recognizes individuals past and present for their talents and contributions to the community. A walkway at Del Crary Park features recipients’ names engraved in blocks scattered throughout the downtown park.

The walkway continues to grow since the first induction ceremony on July 18, 1998.

He will remain on the Hall’s committee as a director.

The board voted Eyre to serve as interim chairman.

“Kenn Grainger’s heart and soul is in the Pathway, which makes us happy he is remaining on the committee as a director,” Eyre said. “With him at the table, it won’t be all that much different.”

Nominations for 2018 inductees are due April 30. Nomination forms are available at Package Plus at 171 Rink St., or online.
