UPDATE: The City of Prince Albert announced Tuesday that the snow route parking ban has been lifted.
Prince Albert has declared a snow route parking ban after the northern Saskatchewan city received 32.5 centimetres of snow over the weekend.
The ban was declared at 9 a.m. CT on Monday and drivers are required to immediately move their vehicles from streets marked by a snow route sign.
Vehicles not moved will be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense.

Under the ban, parking is not allowed on snow routes for up to 48 hours, but could be lifted earlier if priority one streets are clear and there is no threat of a continuing storm.
However, the ban could be re-issued if there is persistent snowfall in the forecast.
Prince Albert remains under a snowfall warning, with an additional five to 15 centimetres possible by Monday evening.
