It’s the end of the road for the Red River Mutual Trail.

Today the Forks announced that the trail is officially closed for the season — but not before setting some records.

The trail was longer than ever this year, spanning a massive 10 kilometers.

It was also open longer than ever at 72 days; more than doubling the 33 days it was around for in 2017.

The trail was the site of some great events in 2018, including a skate into the Guinness Book of World Records in early February.

The on-land trails, Festival Field Rink and crokicurl were all shut down yesterday. The Forks Port Rink is still open.
