With Pink Shirt Day around the corner, people in Saskatoon are sharing their support to try and stop bullying.
Canada’s largest anti-bullying campaign, Red Cross Pink Day, is Wednesday. Some of the proceeds go toward providing bullying prevention messages to Saskatchewan students.
The City of Saskatoon is encouraging people and civic staff to stop bullies at school, work, and online by wearing pink tomorrow.
To raise awareness of the initiative, a number of Saskatoon Transit buses and roadways equipment can be spotted with pink T-shirts spray-painted on them.
City officials said bullying is a serious workplace issue that can have adverse effects on employees and organizations as a whole.
In addition, students at E.D. Feehan Catholic High School will be taking a stand against bullying at a rally on Tuesday. Former Saskatchewan Roughrider and bullying expert Scott McHenry is expected to join the students.
People in nearly 180 countries shared their support for Pink Shirt Day last year through social media posts and donations.
