Crash involving Winnipeg Transit bus in St. Boniface closes traffic Friday

Multiple people were taken to hospital Friday morning after a crash involving a city transit bus and car in St. Boniface.

Emergency crews arrived at the intersection of Goulet Street and Traverse Avenue at around 3:50 a.m.

Police said westbound Goulet Street would be closed for an undetermined amount of time as they investigate.

The driver of the car was taken to hospital in critical condition. The driver of the bus and a passenger in the car were taken to hospital in stable condition.

Officials said the transit bus had the right-of-way when it was hit by the car.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
