Police have released a photo of a man wanted in connection with four bank robberies in northeast Calgary in the hopes someone in the public will be able to identify him.
The most recent robbery happened at about 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 1, 2017, at a CIBC branch in the 3000-block of Sunridge Blvd. N.E.
Police said the suspect was given an “undisclosed amount of cash” and fled the scene after handing staff a note demanding money.
Investigators believe he is connected to three more robberies at other banks in the northeast.
Police said a Scotiabank in the 5000-block of Falconridge Blvd. N.E. was robbed on Feb. 24, 2017. Another Scotiabank in the 2200-block of 68 Street. N.E. was targeted on March 24, 2017, and a third location in the 3500-block of 32 Ave. N.E. was robbed on May 18, 2017.
Police said no injuries were reported in any of the robberies.
Investigators said a photo of the man was captured on CCTV. He’s described as between five-foot-10 and six-feet tall with a slim build, brown eyes and black hair.
Police said in three of the robberies, he appeared to be wearing a dark New York Yankees baseball cap, while in the last robbery, he appeared to be wearing a red Los Angeles Angels baseball cap. Investigators said he was also wearing a grey hoodie and sweatpants in “a few of the incidents.”
