The BC Coroners Service says a dismembered leg and foot found in B.C. waters belonged to a deceased Washington state man.

On Dec. 7, 2017, a man walking his dog found the leg and foot near the Jordan River on Vancouver Island.

DNA analysis confirmed the remains are those of Stanley K. Okumoto from East Bremerton, Wash.

The 79-year-old went missing on Sept. 19, 2017. His body was discovered two months later in Clallam County, about 240 kilometres away from his Bremerton home. His remains were missing the left leg and foot.
