Halifax police have made one arrest and are looking for a second suspect in a smash-and-grab robbery at a downtown private wine store.
Halifax Regional Police officers responded to an intrusion alarm at Bishop’s Cellar, at Bishop’s Landing on Lower Water Street, at around 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

The glass on the front door had been shattered.
“They smashed the door, went straight to the scotch and vodka,” said Matt Rogers, president of Bishop’s Cellar.
“They had a bag with them. They filled it with five or six bottles and off they went.”
Rogers says the thieves took a particularly expensive 18-year-old bottle of scotch.
Using the images from a security video, police were able to find one of the suspects in the area and arrest him.
Rogers says the arrest took place within 20 minutes.
Andrew Albert Hyslop, 29, has been charged with break and enter, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and two counts of breach of court order.
Police did not find the second suspect, who is described as white male, about 5 feet 10 inches, wearing a grey ball cap, black jacket and grey pants.
Bishop’s Cellar posted some tongue-in-cheek posts on Facebook and Twitter advertising their “door crasher” sales and assuring customers there were no “sour grapes” after the incident.
The store was able to quickly replace the door re-opened by noon.
