Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue thank Canadians for supporting their gold medal dreams

Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir credited the support of Canadians for propelling them to ice dance gold on Tuesday, which represents the third Olympic gold medal of their careers – Feb 20, 2018

Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue walked into Canada Olympic House to screams and cheers after winning their gold medal Tuesday at the Pyeongchang Olympics.

The ice dancing duo were quick to thank Canadians for their support.

“There’s truly no better feeling than representing Canada at the Olympic Games, and the support we’ve felt through our Olympic experience and our 20-year career is truly remarkable. We’re grateful for that,” Virtue told Global News.

The pair, now expected to retire after winning their third straight Olympic medal in ice dancing, go out on top.

“I want to say it was the skate of our lives because we did it at the right moment,” Moir said.

“We had wings today from Canada, you could feel that support. I don’t know what it is about the Olympic games and the support you get from Canadians, but it’s special and we’ve been fortunate to have it three times, so thank you so much Canada.”
