Here are the civic services, facilities hours and closures for the City of Saskatoon for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
City Hall: Closed all three days.
Pay parking stations: No payment required on Dec. 25 or Jan. 1 but drivers are only allowed to park their vehicles within the posted time limits. Payment is required on Boxing Day.
Municipal impound lot: No vehicles will be released to the public on all three days.
Saskatoon Public Library: All branches will be closed.
Landfill: Closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, open on Boxing Day from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT.
Garbage and recycling collection: No garbage pickup on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day; pickups will be made the following Saturday if this is a regular collection day.
Civic Conservatory: Closed all three days.
Saskatoon Transit: Will operate with regular holiday service on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Regular service on Boxing Day.
Transit customer service closed to walk-in customers on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, but phone lines will be available both days between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Access Transit: Will operate with holiday service on Dec. 25, Dec. 26 and Jan. 1. Trips must be booked in advance as per normal procedures and subscriptions do not apply on statutory holidays.
Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo: Closed Dec. 25, Dec. 26 and Jan. 1, with regular hours of operation on the other days.
Leisure Centres
Cosmo Civic Centre: Closes at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Closed on Dec. 25, Dec. 26 and Jan. 1.
Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre: Closes at 5 p.m. Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Closed on Dec. 25. Open from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Dec. 26 and Jan. 1. All fitness classes are cancelled.
Lakewood Civic Centre: Closes at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Closed on Dec. 25. Open from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Dec. 26 and Jan. 1. All childminding, fitness classes and indoor playground are cancelled.
Lawson Civic Centre: Closes at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Closed on Dec. 25. Open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 26 and Jan. 1. All fitness classes are cancelled.
Saskatoon Field House: Closes at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Closed on Dec. 25. Open on Dec. 26 and Jan. 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a special holiday fitness class both days from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. All other fitness classes and childminding cancelled.
Shaw Centre: Closes at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Closed on Dec. 25. Open from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Dec. 26 and Jan 1. All fitness classes and childminding are cancelled.
Terry Fox Track in the SaskTel Sports Centre: Closed Dec. 25, Dec. 26 and Jan. 1.
