The two plainclothes officers asked them to step onto the platform at Stadium Station, finding about two pounds of marijuana in ziplock bags inside the backpack of one man, said Transit Police spokeswoman Anne Drennan.

‘It wasn’t so much that acrid smell of marijuana smoke; it was the fresh vegetative smell,” Drennan said. “Here they were just reeking of marijuana thinking they could walk around and nobody would notice.”

The man is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 28, with charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking recommended by Transit Police.
