Winnipeg police search for suspects armed with bear spray, machete accused of robbing man

Police are on the search for two suspects who are accused of robbing a man using a machete and bear spray in the Riverview neighbourhood.

On Thursday around 6:15 p.m. a 27-year-old man called police after he said he was robbed while walking near Clare Avenue and Hay Street.

Two men armed with bear spray and a machete approached the victim and stole personal belongings before fleeing.

One of the men was described as being between 18 and 22 years old, 5’5″ to 5’7″ with a moustache. He was last seen wearing a black toque, black jacket and black pants.

The second man was between 18 and 22 years old, 5’7″ wearing a baseball cap, black hoodie with a white stripe on the front and blue jeans.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact investigators at 1-204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 1-204-786-8477.
