Toronto police seek suspect in fatal Malvern shooting

Toronto police are looking for a suspect involved in a fatal shooting in Malvern. As Marianne Dimain reports, this is the third shooting death in the neighbourhood in the past several months – Nov 22, 2017

Toronto police are searching for a suspect after a 30-year-old man was shot and killed in east-end Toronto overnight.

Police said they responded to multiple calls of gunshots around midnight outside a residence on Gennela Square near Morningview Trail and Morningside Avenue in Toronto’s Malvern neighbourhood.

Officers arrived and found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the victim, identified as Brandon Clarke, did not live on Gennela Square but had “interest” on that street.

The victim was a father and was employed full-time, Det. Jeff Tavares told reporters on Wednesday.

Police said the shooting suspect was last seen heading north on Genella Square towards Morningview Trail.

He is described as male, between 5’9″ to 5’10” tall, with a slim build and dark clothing.

In July, two men were fatally shot at a backyard birthday party at Gennela Square.

Tavares said investigators don’t have any information to suggest the shooting is connected.

Police said they are urging anyone with information or surveillance video to come forward.
