In a news conference Tuesday afternoon, Quebec’s anti-corruption squad (UPAC) denied statements made by MNA Guy Ouellette.
Ouellette was arrested by UPAC last Wednesday and said he was the victim of intimidation and a set-up.
In response to Ouellette, UPAC said there was no intimidation on their part and they used a common police technique to bait him.

Ouellette is not facing any charges.
UPAC director Robert Lafrenière said he is convinced charges will be laid in the future, but wouldn’t specify against who.

The anti-corruption squad also noted that the investigation will continue as planned and Lafrenière said he will not step down as director.
UPAC had not confirmed Ouellette’s arrest before Tuesday and gave no reason for it.
