Attempted murder charge laid in Hamilton Road shooting; suspect still at large

London police have issued an arrest warrant and have charged an 18-year-old man with attempted murder in connection to a late night shooting Wednesday in the city’s east end that left one person in serious condition.

Officers and paramedics were called to 423 Hamilton Rd. around 11:30 p.m. for reports of a shooting, and at the scene, located a 19-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. They were transported to hospital in serious condition where they remained Thursday afternoon, police said.

The suspect, who police say was known to the victim, fled the scene with the firearm, and was last seen near Adelaide Street and Hamilton Road, police said.

Following an investigation, police announced Thursday that an arrest warrant had been issued for Adrian Henderson, 18, of no fixed address, for one count of attempted murder in relation to the shooting.

Henderson, police said, also goes by the name “Reino Smith,” and is described as a black male, approximately 5-foot-8, with a muscular build, a scar on his left cheek, and a large tattoo of a cross on his chest.

He was wearing a red jacket, red pants with white stripes down the legs with an AC Milan soccer club logo near the right front pocket, and red shoes, police said.

Henderson remains at large, and police say they have not yet located the firearm used in the offence. Anyone who sees Henderson is asked to contact police immediately at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
