Police investigating after shots allegedly fired in North Central Regina

Police are still on the scene in the 1100 block of Elphinstone Street after shots were allegedly fired at around 10:30 a.m. Monday morning.

Police officers were investigating another crime when the shots were fired – no one was injured.

Police still have a safety perimeter established and crisis negotiators are trying to make contact with the people in the home.

Motorists and residents are asked to avoid the area.

Students at Seven Stones Community Centre, Kitchner Community School and Albert Commuity School are being released to their parents at the door of the school.

Students that go to Sacred Heart Community School are being let out of school with a controlled dismissal, parents are asked not to call the school.

Students at Scott Collegiate are being released if they have a plan to get home. Students who live in the cordoned off area are being kept at school unless that can demonstrate that they have a safe place to go (a friend or family member’s house). Parents are also allowed to come and get their kids at the door.
