Calgary police are now calling a man’s death in the community of Palliser a homicide and are asking for help from the public to find the victim’s roommate, who is wanted for questioning.

Officers were called to a home in the 2300 block of Oakmoor Drive S.W. on Sunday at around 4:45 p.m. after a man was found dead inside the residence by a family member.

Police are looking for Mohammadali Darabi, 32, of Calgary. Investigators believe he left the home Sunday afternoon driving a silver-coloured 2006 Toyota Corolla with Alberta licence plate BKW 1855.

Darabi is described as 6’1”, 168 pounds with a slim build.

Police said he may not look exactly like the photo provided below, as he may be clean-shaven and/or have longer or shorter hair.

An autopsy on the victim, who is in his late 20s, is scheduled to be completed on Tuesday.

Anyone with information is asked to avoid approaching Darabi and to call police at 911, 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
