Three men were taken into custody in connection with a shooting that police were called to at East 51st and Main Street on Friday, the Vancouver police said in a news release.
Two were released without charges and one was held in custody on an unrelated matter, the release said.
Police received reports about shots being fired in the South Vancouver area just after 2:30 p.m.
Officers conducted an “extensive search” and took in the three men for questioning to see what role they played in the incident, if any.
“Luckily, no innocent bystanders were injured,” Const. Jason Doucette said in a statement.
“A couple of inches to the left or right could have led to serious injuries or death.”
A stray bullet hit at least one business that had people in it, the news release added.
The VPD’s Organized Crime Section is helping with the investigation.
