Pedestrian hurt in daylight pellet gun shooting in downtown Hamilton

Hamilton police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a daylight shooting involving a pellet gun.

Officers were called to Main Street West and Hess Street South just before 5:00 p.m. Tuesday after witnesses reported seeing a man in a vehicle who was holding a possible firearm.

About an hour later, police saw the suspect vehicle stopped at a red light at the intersection of Main Street East and Hughson Street North.

Police say the driver pointed a firearm out of the front passenger window and fired a single shot at a person standing on the sidewalk before the vehicle sped off.

The victim was struck in the chest by a BB pellet and suffered minor injuries.

Police say three men in the vehicle are described as white and in their twenties.

The suspect vehicle is a dark grey or black four-door sedan.
