RCMP in New Brunswick have arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with a break-and-enter at a McAdam gun shop.
The Gun Dealer on Harvey Road was broken into just after 4 a.m. on Oct. 9.

The store’s owner, Ross Faulkner, says it appears the thieves used a sledgehammer to break into the front door.
“The secondary system that we have, which is a gate, delayed them somewhat which gave the RCMP a window of opportunity to get here while they were still in the store,” Faulkner said.
“We believe they had to actually attach a vehicle to the gate in order to get the gate removed.”
Faulkner says their alarm system was able to alert RCMP shortly after the break-in, and officers “were on the scene within minutes.”
“There was some damage to the showcases. They were busted with a sledgehammer, but a lot of the merchandise they got was dropped on the floor because the Mounties were here while they were in the store,” he said.
Police say when officers arrived, several suspects fled — both by driving away in a vehicle and by running into the woods.
A man from Lakeville, N.B., was arrested a short time later in a wooded area behind the store. He was released on a promise to appear in court.

According to RCMP, it’s believed no firearms were stolen, but the suspects did take ammunition and a gun case.
