15-year-old boy shot, another teen in custody in Miramichi, N.B.

The Miramichi Police Force are investigating what led to a shooting this weekend that left a teen with serious injuries.

Late Friday evening, officers were called to a home on Water Street after receiving a 911 call about a 15-year-old boy who was suffering from a serious blood loss injury.

Once they arrived on scene, police determined the teen was suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to the Miramichi Hospital by ambulance where he continues to receive treatment.

Police arrested a male and female — both 17 — at the scene.

The 17-year-old male has been remanded in custody after appearing in weekend remand court. There is no word on what charges may be pending.

He is scheduled to make a court appearance on Tuesday.
