The victim suffered a stab wound and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, where he remains in stable condition, Robillard said.

The alleged attacker was arrested, and police said they are recommending charges for aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Robillard said a third man, unrelated to the incident, was pepper sprayed and arrested by an officer for breach of the peace, but was later released without charge.
