Editors Note: The man’s body was found, foul play is not suspected
A 53-year-old Winnipeg man is missing after going canoeing Thursday evening.
Selkirk RCMP received an early morning call on Friday that a man who had gone fishing at Sunset Beach, just south of Grand Marais, had failed to return home.
Officers from Selkirk RCMP, Police Dog Services, Search and Rescue, the Canadian Forces Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, and the East Beaches Fire and Rescue have conducted an intensive search by air, land, and water that has so far been unsuccessful.
The man’s vehicle and trailer were found at the beach early Friday morning.
The investigation is ongoing.
