4 Londoners face 1st-degree murder charges in Raymond Beaver’s stabbing death

London police say they’ve charged four people with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Raymond Beaver.

Daniel Cavanagh, 32, Melissa George, 34, Nicholas George, 18, and Peter Townsend, 20, were taken into custody earlier this week.

All four of the suspects are from London.

The update comes a day after London police announced break and enter and assault charges against seven people, including the four suspects now facing counts of first-degree murder.

In addition to those four, Lisa Sager, 38, was charged with break and enter and assault with a weapon while two male youths were charged with break and enter.

Beaver, 43, died after he was stabbed in what his family has said was a home invasion at their residence on Lansdowne Avenue between Nelson Street and Trafalgar Street on Monday night.

Police said they responded to a call around 11:30 p.m. where they found a man who had been stabbed and another who was suffering from non-life-threatening injuries as a result of an assault.

Both were taken to hospital. Beaver was pronounced dead. The other man, Beaver’s 47-year-old uncle, George Janes, was later released.
