Provincial Municipal Relations Minister Jeff Wharton said “supporting local infrastructure that builds active and healthy communities makes our province a better place to live, work and play.”

The launch features a removable aluminum alloy gangway and floating canoe/kayak dock, a concrete block/paving stone walkway and platform, and a new park bench.  The improvement project also involved grading and reinforcement of the Red River shore line.

“The canoe/kayak dock will add to the outdoor recreation opportunities available at the Crescent Drive Park and at the adjacent Crescent Drive Golf Course,” Ronald Mazur, Chair of Crescent Park Rescue hailed the launch as a win for residents across south Winnipeg.
