Cocaine, cash seized by police in Saskatoon trafficking bust

Three men are facing cocaine trafficking charges after a drug bust in Saskatoon.

The arrests were made after members of the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team (SIDEST) spotted activity on Friday believed to be consistent with drug trafficking.

Police took three men into custody and charged them with trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.

SIDEST then searched two homes, one in the 200-block of Pinehouse Drive and the other in the 1300-block of 1st Avenue North.

Police said they seized 70.7 grams of cocaine, 10 grams of cannabis marijuana, $18,530 in cash and two vehicles as offence related property.

Officials said the arrests were made as part of a previous investigation where SIDEST members seized approximately $45,000 in cash on Sept. 12.

Two Surrey, B.C., men, 25 and 29, and a 19-year-old man from Whitehorse, Yukon, are scheduled to appear Monday in Saskatoon provincial court.
