B.C.’s Premier is pushing for communities across the province to try and land the second home of a major web retailer.
John Horgan says B.C. would be the perfect place for Amazon’s second headquarters and is pleased to see the Metro and Island regions are entering bids.
“I would hope that the Okanagan would look seriously at an opportunity like this as well. And that was my appeal to the delegates here today. This is a real possibility. It’s going to mean billions of dollars of investment, good jobs and we’re very serious about it.”

Several other Canadian cities have declared interest in securing the online titan’s new home – including Toronto, Calgary, Halifax, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Montreal.
Amazon says it plans to invest five billion dollars in the headquarters’ construction and will hire 50-thousand people.
The tech giant will be accepting proposals until October 19.
