Regina Police Taser man armed with knife

Regina Police were called to the 300 block of McCarthy Boulevard North around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday for reports of an intoxicated man carrying a knife.

Officers challenged the man upon arrival, but say he was non-compliant and refused to drop the knife. According to police, the perceived risk of death or serious bodily harm prompted one officer to deploy their Taser in order to take the man into custody.

Clayton Kinequon, 38, of Regina is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon.

Kinequon has since been released and will appear in provincial court on November 2nd.
