Londoners will come together Wednesday for a mix of good food, good friends, and good fun.
The 3M Harvest Lunch is back for another year at Budweiser Gardens to kick off the United Way’s 2017 fundraising campaign.
“What we’re hearing in the community is the need is as great as ever,” said Kelly Ziegner, CEO of the United Way London and Middlesex. “Just last week there was census data that was released that ranked London third in the country for child poverty. So we know there’s a lot of work for us to do, and that’s where United Way-funded programs and services come into play in terms of giving kids a better opportunity to succeed later in life.”
About 2,500 people usually attend the event that mixes a tasty meal with philanthropy.
Ziegner says the lunch will focus on how donations to the organization make a difference in the community.
The lunch runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Tickets are still available at the door for $10.
