Police investigate after bullet holes found in parked cars in East Vancouver

Police are investigating after shots were fired into parked vehicles in East Vancouver early Tuesday morning.

Officers interviewed residents and searched the area around Main Street and East 56th Avenue after receiving reports of gunfire at around 12:30 a.m., but failed to confirm that shots were fired.

Hours later, police were called back to the area and found a weapon and shell casings on the ground. They later found a number of parked, unoccupied vehicles that appeared to have bullet holes.

Vancouver police said there are no reports of injuries and the incident appears to be targeted.

Last week, police launched an investigation after shots were fired in the 1700-block of East 34 Avenue near Argyle Street.
