Vernon holds RespectFEST to celebrate Canada 150

A pancake breakfast kicked off a variety of celebratory and educational public events being held in Vernon from now until Saturday.

It’s all part of Canada 150 celebrations.

Thirteen organizations are working together to coordinate RespectFEST, with support from the Social Planning Council of North Okanagan.

The Allan Brooks Nature Centre is hosting a raptor festival to bring people closer to their natural environment.

The Downtown Vernon Association will host “Respect Lives Here”, a multicultural festival that celebrates food, music, and dance.

In addition to the events, RespectFEST will create a permanent public art installation for the City of Vernon.
