Halifax police release 2 detained in Clayton Park suspicious death investigation

Halifax Regional Police say they have released two people who were arrested in connection to a suspicious death in Halifax this weekend.

Officers were sent to 36 Montgomery Ct. in the early hours of Sept. 17 where a 20-year-old man needed immediate medical attention.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance, but later died.

Police say they questioned a 27-year-old man and 24-year-old woman, both of whom knew the deceased, in relation to the death.

The pair was arrested at around 6:20 a.m. but released without charges at 8 p.m on Sunday.

As well, police say an autopsy was conducted on Sunday, but they need more in-depth testing to determine how the man died.

Investigators remain on the scene in Clayton Park and expect to be there throughout the day Monday.
