Hockey fever is alive and well in Montreal, judging by the number of fans who showed up for some preseason fun with the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre on Sunday.

While the outdoor programming featured fun-filled activities, most fans were on hand to take in the annual Red vs. White scrimmage — a friendly inter-squad match.

The puck drop was slated for 1 p.m.

It was also a chance for hockey junkies to meet the 2017-2018 Montreal Canadiens team.

One fan told Global News she was looking forward to all the new lineups, not to mention Carey Price and the Stanley Cup down the road.

“This year we’re going to bring it home,” she said.

Pint-sized fans in attendance echoed her sentiment.

“I hope they go in the playoffs and win the Stanley Cup,” one of many boys sporting a Habs jersey said.

One of his friends, was a little more skeptical, saying only “it could be,” when asked whether the team would bring the Cup home this year.
