Driver killed as SUV slams into cement truck in Cramahe Township

One person was killed after a SUV collided with a cement truck in Cramahe Township – Sep 15, 2017

One person is dead following a collision between a SUV and a cement truck on Friday morning in Cramahe Township.

In the early stages of their investigation, Northumberland OPP determined that around 11:30 a.m., the driver of the northbound SUV lost control of the vehicle and crossed the centre line of County Road 25 and collided with the southbound cement trunk.

The male driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene just north of the hamlet of Morganston, about 30 kilometres north of Cobourg.

The truck driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. County Road 25 remains closed as police continue to investigate. Detours are in place at County Road 27 north to Clarke Road.

The name of the victim has yet to be released.

UPDATE TUESDAY SEPT 19: The victim has been identified as Ryan Andrew Sinclair, 32 of Cramahe Township.
