Search warrant in St. Albert leads to seizure of guns and cocaine

Multiple firearms were seized and a man was arrested after St. Albert RCMP officers executed a search warrant at the end of August.

On Aug. 31, officers searched an apartment in the Grandin area of St. Albert. Inside they found an undisclosed amount of cocaine and crack cocaine as well as “multiple” guns.

A 29-year-old St. Albert man is facing nine charges, including unauthorized possession of a firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Police said the man’s name will not be released as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

The accused is scheduled to be in court on Sept. 18.
