A water main break on Bayers Road in Halifax is expected to affect traffic during Wednesday’s afternoon rush hour.

Halifax Regional Police currently have the outbound lanes of Bayers Road closed from Connaught Avenue to Romans Avenue.

One inbound lane remains open.

Crews are on-site making repairs and traffic control personnel are on-site to help with traffic flow.

Halifax Water is reminding drivers to proceed carefully and that speed fines double in work zones.

Water service is out between Romans Avenue and Mic Mac Street and will not be restored until late this evening.
