On Monday at about 3 p.m., officers responded from Fraser Valley Traffic Service and Hope to a crash involving an Equinox SUV and maintenance truck about 10 kilometres east of Hope.

According to Mounties, the SUV was believed to be travelling southbound before colliding with the truck. A woman in her 30s, who was a passenger in the SUV, died as a result of the crash.

The driver of the SUV allegedly fled the scene immediately after the crash in a white Ford F350 truck, which was stolen from a Good Samaritan who had stopped to help and left his truck unattended.
