An armed standoff in Winnipeg’s North End has been resolved according to police.
Officers wouldn’t confirm if any arrests were made. One person was seen being escorted in handcuffs to the back of a police vehicle but he later appeared to be released.
Police confirmed that no one was injured during the incident.
During a media briefing just after 10 a.m. police said they believe two suspects, one of them armed, were holding out in a home at the corner of McAdam Avenue and Aikins Street.
“Around 8 a.m. we received a report of an individual who was armed, we believe we have two suspects in a residence just off this intersection,” Carver said.
A daycare and school in the area were placed in a hold and secure mode and Carver said residents in the area were told to stay inside
Police wouldn’t release information into how the incident started or if the suspects were known to officers.
Multiple units remain on scene as of 10:50 a.m. Tuesday.
