Vehicle with shooting victim inside flags down Montreal ambulance for help

Montreal police are investigating what they are describing as an attempted murder after a man — possibly in his 20s — was shot in the upper body.

According to police, a group of people in a vehicle flagged down an ambulance at around at around 3:40 p.m. on Sunday, near the intersection of Côte-Saint-Luc Road and Décarie Boulevard in Montreal’s Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough.

The victim was a passenger in the vehicle.

He was rushed to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear as the victim is not cooperating with investigators.

Montreal police spokesperson Manuel Couture said the group in the vehicle fled the scene after paramedics took charge of the injured man.

Officers have yet to locate the scene of the shooting.
