Jean-François Lisée can breathe a sigh of relief.
The Parti Québécois leader’s tenure was put to the test Saturday, with members of the sovereignist party holding a confidence vote on his stewardship.

Lisée, who steadfastly refused to specify a minimum percentage he would find acceptable to stay on, ended up securing 92.8 per cent of the vote.
The result suggests that, with a provincial election set to be held in just over a year, the PQ doesn’t see itself as being in a position to switch leaders yet again.
Lisée assumed leadership of the PQ in October last year.
