Saskatoon break and enter suspect accused of using getaway vehicle to hit homeowner

A homeowner was hurt after allegedly being hit by the getaway vehicle driven by the man accused of breaking into his Briarwood area home.

Saskatoon police said the confrontation happened early Thursday morning and the homeowner was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators with the break and enter unit believed the suspect was a man known to police.

The suspect was arrested Thursday afternoon and a search of a home in the 900-block of Werschner Crescent turned up items police said had been stolen from the Briarwood area home.

The 34-year-old man had been charged with break and enter, assault with a weapon, and breach of an undertaking.

Two other men, 28 and 41, were arrested during the break-and-enter investigation.

They are charged with possession of stolen property and possession of crystal meth for the purpose of trafficking.

The 41-year-old man is also charged with breaching an undertaking.

Saskatoon police said the investigation is ongoing.
