The BC Coroners Service says two people died in the incident – a man in his 30s and a woman in her 60s. The man was the operator of the truck and the woman was a passenger in one of the vehicles.

Emergency Health Services said they transported six patients to hospital in total.

Coquitlam RCMP say Lougheed Hwy closed eastbound and westbound between Como Lake and Pitt River Rd. until further notice.

“Our collision investigative team will be on scene working on the investigative side so I foresee that it will be a little while through rush hour, so if people could take alternate routes that would be appreciated,” said Cst. Jennifer Goodings with Coquitlam RCMP.
