An Oshawa man was arrested after he threatened to shoot tenants at an apartment complex in Lindsay, Ont.
Kawartha Lakes Police attended the Albert Street S. complex on Sunday around 9 p.m. after being informed a man was threatening to shoot someone. When police arrived, they discovered the suspect had been escorted out of the building after he became agitated and threatened to shoot others.
Officers searched and located a suspect in the area and arrested him. However, no firearm was located and police do not believe he ever possessed one. Police learned he was wanted on several outstanding warrants.
Kyle Kelly Luck, 31, of Oshawa, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle; possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000; fraud under $5,000; failing to appear for court and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order. He was scheduled for a bail hearing in court in Lindsay on Tuesday.
Man threatens couple with a crowbar
A 61-year-old man has been arrested and charged after he threatened a man and woman with a crowbar Saturday afternoon.
Kawartha Lakes Police responded to a former Ops Township residence after being contacted by a couple who claim they had been threatened with a crowbar.
Police learned the suspect used to have a business relationship with the couple and say the suspect had been harassing the couple for several months.
Police say the couple attempted to resolve their issues by attending the man’s residence but were confronted by the man on the roadway with a crowbar.
Michael Bulpin, of the former Ops Township, was charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He will appear in the court in Lindsay on Oct. 5.
Bench swiped from neighbourhood
Police are investigating the theft of a community bench in Lindsay on Sunday.
The multi-coloured bench was removed from the sidewalk in front of a Durham Street W. residence. It had been in use for two years for residents as well as featuring a metal water bowl for dogs. The bench had “Alley’s Rest Spot 4 All” painted on it.
Police say during the evening hours, unknown person(s) removed the bench and water bowl. A wire cord was wrapped around the bench and a nearby tree but was not locked, only held closed by a clasp.
