Most of Saskatchewan’s provincial parks are under a fire ban.
The Environment Ministry issued the fire ban on Thursday for all Crown land, provincial parks and recreation sites south of the Churchill River due to the extreme wildfire hazard.

Lac La Ronge Provincial Park is also included in the ban.
All open fires are banned, along with fireworks.
Self-contained heating devices, pressurized stoves, gas barbecues, propane fire pits and charcoal briquettes used in an approved firebox are permitted for cooking and heating purposes only.
While provincial parks and recreation sites remain open, some campgrounds and roads may be closed.

The ban will remain in place until conditions improve.
A fire ban is also in place for Prince Albert National Park.
The ban includes fires in camp kitchen shelters, and in cabins and cottages in the park.
Only propane or naptha camp stoves are permitted until further notice.
A number of municipalities have also issued fire bans due to the dry conditions:
- Prince Albert – all open fires
- RM of North Battleford – all open fires not in a legal fire pit
- RM of Vanscoy – all open fires
- RM of Montrose – all open fires
- RM of Duck Lake – all open fires
