Port Hawkesbury, N.S. man facing drug trafficking charges after traffic stop

A 30-year-old Port Hawkesbury, N.S., man is facing drug trafficking charges after he was arrested during a targeted traffic stop on Friday afternoon.

Police say they conducted a stop on Granville Street in Port Hawkesbury just before 4 p.m. A quantity of cocaine was seized and the driver was arrested.

As a result of the arrest, a search warrant was executed by police at the man’s residence, which led to the seizure of a small quantity of marijuana and other evidence.

The man is facing charges of possession of cocaine and marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on Sept. 25.

According to police, the investigation is ongoing.
