‘Kids and Cops’ wrap up jam-packed week at camp

The Peterborough Police service and the local chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters wrapped up its “Kids and Cops” program.

The week long event included a trip to Toronto for a Blue Jays game, a tour of the police station, kayaking trip and on the final day they met a four legged member of the police who serves on K9 unit.

Officer Tim Fish and 7-year-old German shepherd Wolf work side-by-side everyday and the pair greeted the children and put on a demonstration, showing off all the skills Wolf has acquired in his training.

Officer Fish then took time to answer questions from the campers.

While constable Mark Hubble took some time to interview some campers to get their perspective on the week long camp which is posted in the video above.

Officers donate their time at the week long camp and use their own vacation time to help out.
