In all but one of the cases, police are still searching for suspects.

Police said hit and run investigations can take a significant amount of time, simply due to the nature of the crime.

Murray said investigators are working everyday on hit and run cases, to determine exactly what happened, trying to find vehicles that can take off within seconds.

Investigations on all hit and runs remain open, no matter how much time passes.

“They’re still underway, they’re never cold or closed, we always work on these as investigations. I think in the future we’ll be back up on the podium announcing a few arrests for a few of them,” Murray said.

An arrest has been made following the hit and run on Jefferson Avenue at McPhillips Street May 28.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating suspects in the other three hit and runs this year:

  • May 21, 2017 Cumberland Avenue and Carlton Street
  • June 3, 2017 Elgin Avenue and Gertie Street
  • August 3, 2017 Marion Street
